Not All Steering Columns Are Created Equal! These Lightweight Units Will Handle The Abuse In Your Race Car.

Chris Alston’s Chassisworks has been building bad ass chassis and components for decades, and they are a family run business that is filled with people who are passionate about the products they design and build. And build they do, with 99 percent of their part numbers coming directly from their building, with only things like nuts and bolts coming from outside sources. They are the one stop shop, and they make it all the right way. Which is exactly what you want to hear when you are looking for something important like a steering column.

After all, a lightweight column that doesn’t work smoothly and reliably isn’t much good when trying to go fast. And why else would you want a lightweight column unless you are trying to go fast?

Well the good news is that Chassisworks has got a few different styles, depending on what type of car you are building and for what use, but all of them are up to the task and will survive whatever you throw at them. Their universal stainless column is specifically designed to be used in fast street cars doing events like Rocky Mountain Race Week, Drag Week, etc. Heavy cars put a strain on a steering column, especially if they don’t have power steering, so a column that will live is important.

I kept the stock column, stock steering wheel in my truck. It will collapse in the event of a front end collision(important) and I retained the use of the horn, wipers, lights.
Steering wheel is removable too. 😉
