Video Of Rob Wendland Front Halfing Larry Dixon’s Top Fuel Dragster: Sounds Simple, But It All Has To Be Perfect!

It isn’t uncommon for Top Fuel and Top Alcohol cars to get front halfed after a certain number of runs, a crash, big wheelstands, or what have you. The same could be said for a Funny Car chassis as well, but the way that a Top Fuel dragster chassis is laid out the entire driver’s compartment can usually be saved and updated while you build the rest new. The driver’s area of the chassis is by far the most labor intensive for the size, the most rigid, and the part that typically sees the least amount of wear and tear. In this series of videos you’ll see Rob Wendland take Larry Dixon’s single seat Top Fuel car and do a complete front half on it. Because this car is significantly different than those Rob usually builds, there are going to be some big changes to the jigs and such in order to get it on the table where it needs to be so that tubing can start being fabricated.

And we’re talking lots of tubing! This is going to be a fun series and we always like stuff that Rob does, so make sure you come back for part 3. The first two videos are below, so check them out!
