Ready For E85? Which Fuel Line Do you Need To Make Sure Your Fuel System Is Ready?

Ready For E85? Which Fuel Line Do you Need To Make Sure Your Fuel System Is Ready?

Technology is a wonderful thing, and E85 is no exception. It is a great fuel not only because it makes an internal combustion engine lower emissions, but also because it is capable of supporting lots more power than any pump gas that is available. It offers amazing cooling capacity for the intake charge and the octane is typically between 100 and 110 so the combination gives it the ability to support well over 1,000 horsepower in boosted applications. The only downside is that you need to use more fuel than you do with gasoline and it can be harmful to some fuel system components. So a bigger fuel pump, lines, etc are often needed and those lines need to be E85 compatible.

That’s what this video is about, the fuel lines that are compatible with E85 and why you need to pay attention to which ones you choose. Luckily there are plenty of E85 compatible fuel lines available from a variety of brands so you should be able to find what you need pretty easily. Just be sure to get lines that not only will live with E85 in them, but that are also large enough to support the power level you have in mind.

I used TechAFX Blackwrap PTFE fuel line on my car and I wouldn’t use anything else. Impervious to any fuel and you’ll never have to replace it. I found it easy enough to assemble, take your time with assembly and wrap it with tape when you cut it.
