Bonneville Speed Week 2017: Friday Salt Coverage – Racers Coming In, Tech Going On, Awesomeness Reigns Supreme

Bonneville Speed Week 2017: Friday Salt Coverage – Racers Coming In, Tech Going On, Awesomeness Reigns Supreme

So here we go! Friday at Bonneville Speed Week 2017 is a pretty interesting day. It is low key, it is quiet, and it is a fun time to kind of get the lay of the land and see exactly what’s what with the competitors we know and those that we have never seen before. I spent the morning prowling the pits and the tech line to get photos of interesting things you’ll all dig.

There are loads of returning veterans and lots of new iron as well. It is what keeps this event so interesting and it is the same driving force that has sustained it over the course of nearly 70 years now. Veterans report that the salt is pretty damned good this year, thicker than last year, and that two of the three courses (short and intermediate) are spectacular. The long course has a couple of spots that could be troublesome according to the guys we have talked to. We have not seen them for themselves and it should be known that salt quality rumors are part of the whole sport of the event, so take those reports for what they are worth.

The proof will be in the pudding when the heavy iron starts to slug it out on that course tomorrow. We’ll be back with more photos later!

What is up with the site? It has moved into the number one SLOWEST LOADING SITE I GO TO.

And yes I checked all the usual things but it is the only site slow loading it even stops loading like it’s trying to figure out ok what is the next step?

    time for a site tuneup

Running fine for me this morning, however they were having some denial of service attacks earlier in the week.
