RPM Act Reintroduced for 2021 And We Talked To The Team In Washington – Protect Your Right To Race!

RPM Act Reintroduced for 2021 And We Talked To The Team In Washington – Protect Your Right To Race!

The full press release from SEMA is below, but let me start by saying that we talked directly with SEMA’s Washington Congressional team just hours before the RPM Act was reintroduced and can tell you that the energy the team has for what we are all doing is awesome. Never before have you spoken louder about wanting to keep our right to race, and Senators and Representatives from Congress are listening! The team told us that we are actually making an impact now, so much so that these congressmen and women are coming to SEMA’s team to talk instead of having to be chased down all the time. But this is NOT the time to back down. We have to keep sending letters and thankfully SEMA is making that easy. Even if you have done it already, we need you to send letters and you can do that electronically at the link below. It literally takes less than one minute to send the letter. SEMA already wrote it for you in the form.

I know that nobody wants to think about government affairs anymore and that some of you out there are disheartened with our system, but now is the time to stand up for our right to race cars. Do not let them take this away from us. You can make a difference, and we are working on ways for you to have access to the team in Washington, and for you to be heard directly. Please support this and we promise to continue supporting you as well. And don’t think this isn’t about ou hot rodders or enthusiasts that don’t race. It is. We have to stick together because if the EPA is able to keep us from racing it won’t be long before they keep us from having hot rods altogether. Stand together and fight.

Our voices have been heard! After receiving more than one million letters from enthusiasts like you, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act (RPM Act) has been reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2021-2022 session of Congress!

The RPM Act must be enacted into law to guarantee your right to modify street cars, trucks, and motorcycles into dedicated race vehicles, and ensure that industry can offer parts that enable racers to compete.

Now is not the time to take our feet off the gas. Even if you’ve previously contacted your lawmakers about the RPM Act, we need your voice once again now that the bill has officially returned for consideration in 2021! Tell your U.S. Representative to do their part to finally save racing from government threat by supporting and passing the RPM Act into law this year.

Please spend your time on bigger problems in this country. All forms of motorsports stimulate the economy and keep people off the streets.

My Rep is Hank Johnson. The MENSA protege who was afraid Guam might tip over. (sigh)

My letter was sent to Hank Johnson, the genius that thought Guam might tip over. We’re doomed.

Chad, I’m not disheartened with the system, I’m disheartened with ignorant citizens continuing to vote for these left wing control/power grabbing azzholes

The RPM Act does not go nearly far enough in it’s scope. It only protects cars being permanently transformed into race cars. It does nothing to protect street rods, hot rods, restomods, or anything else meant to be driven on the street. Along with the legislation to ban these vehicles, they will have no choice but to implement emissions testing in every county in America to enforce these new rules. My county is trying to get the typical “air quality study” from an “independent” center but what they don’t mention is that every study has resulted in the same suggestion… “Your county is polluted by vehicles and they all need to be tested for emissions.” It’s on their website. Every single study has ended with this recommendation.
