(Photos by Greg Rourke) – One of the things that makes or breaks a Drag Week is the quality of the tracks and the effort put forth by the venues to be prepared for the event. Believe you me, we have rolled into some real disasters over the years and what ends up happening is that the racers get cheated out of a good experience and we all kind of leave disgruntled.

I’m super happy to say that every place we visited during Drag Week 2017 was absolutely prepared for us with not only a great racing surface but people at the gate and a plan on how to deal with getting hundreds of cars in and out in a relatively painless fashion. The spectators are showing up as well. Gate counts numbered in the thousands every day with Byron being one of the strongest crowds of the week and that was a Wednesday!

The cars are truly the stars of this event and that’s why we’re going to let these Greg Rourke photos do the talking. Amazing stuff, amazing people, and just the best week of the freaking year!
