We love stories like this one. The guys at Urban Hillbilly Action Video stopped by their home track recently to check up on some serious upgrades that are being made to the facility. The track we’re talking about is Ozark Raceway Park in Missouri and the work we’re talking about is the addition of new concrete and lots of paving work at the track. It is always fantastic when tracks reinvest in themselves to create a better and faster place for their customers and competitors to race at. Ozark is a cool little track that runs lots of different events and it seems like they are setting themselves up in a good position to provide years and years of racing action with this new work.
If you were looking for a feel good story on a Friday, here’s one. The reality (that lots of people don’t want to believe) is that the sport is doing really well. Massive crowds at recent events, increased car counts, and places like Ozark reinvesting in themselves are proof that drag racing is still a happening thing in this country and on levels that many people don’t even think about. Could it be better? It could ALWAYS be better. Could it be worse? Let’s not even go there.
So long as SEMA and the rest of us can fight the good fight and stand up for our rights at hot rodders and enthusiasts, the activities we love are on the right track.
Was hoping that “Bubba Gut” would do a belly flop into the concrete…damn. Looks nice.
