Craigslist Find of The Year! An Unrestored 1969 Hurst Olds Survivor – 13,000 Original Miles!

Craigslist Find of The Year! An Unrestored 1969 Hurst Olds Survivor – 13,000 Original Miles!

This is one of 913 1969 Hurst Olds models ever produced and it is a 13,000 original mile survivor that is now being sold on Craigslist. Restored versions of this car garner very large sums of money. An all original machine wearing its factory tires, having an unmolested interior, and an engine that is barely broken in? We have no idea what this one is going to being but it is going to be a LOT of money.

1969 was the second year for the Hurst Olds program. The 1968 models were notable for a bunch of reasons but the foremost was that they happened to be the first cars to ever house an engine of more than 400ci in a GM mid-size car. Their 455 power plants in 1968 were actually a little more rowdy (without AC) than those in the 1969 models but we’re not really counting horsepower here.

Notable changes for the 1969 models were the white and gold paint job, the hand pin striped hood, the fiberglass “mailbox” style scoop on the leading edge of the hood, the functional ram air air cleaner, and the deckled spoiler. The Dual Gate shifter is way cool and the fact that the original 15×7 wheels and factory installed tires are on them really blows our mind. Either someone bought this thing and knew for a fact that it was going to be an instant collectible or that sucker is cursed beyond belief and someone needs to have it exorcised.

The seller is actually considering trades for this thing. Stuff like classic Bronocs and classic Blazers are on the list. We know that this things have some value but if you want to trade yourself WAY up, see if this guy will take a clean 1970 Blazer for the Hurst straight up!

13 or 113 for a car from Cape Cod that effer is clean…looks like he is trying to run a CL auction with no price given…I bet offers will pour as this thing makes its rounds on the net.

You can tell it’s a curber, pictures from 50 feet away, no pictures of the rust, and a shot of the thermostat housing. And if this thing has 13K original on it my 110K Mustang just rolled off the assembly line…

I’m guessing the guy who has it up for sale has had the car in his driveway less than a week.

This is a 50/50 car, you know it looks good from 50 feet @ 50 MPH! It may be 13K mile car being it was not garage most of its life.

Curious what BJ price he is commanding.

Cape Cod is right on the ocean. Even if parked in a garage for 40 years, that is a lot of salt air.

It’s the non-stock hose clamps that are rusty that has me wondering if it has 13,000 miles. But, the lack of grease is surprising if it was over 100k miles. The only grease I see is on the power steering return line.

I guess some of you guys didn’t get to see Vega’s that were brand new rusting away on dealer’s lots. Hell my ’77 Hornet AMX had to have new front fenders in 1982. “they don’t make ’em like they used to”, and I for one am glad they don’t.

40 years down the cape, or any salt air, It look like that white buick t-type g/n that was blogged about a few weeks ago
