Dale Truck Hits The Strip (Again!) Will Cleetus Blow The Rear End Out Of The Ex-Racer?

Dale Truck Hits The Strip (Again!) Will Cleetus Blow The Rear End Out Of The Ex-Racer?

With a good portion of the vehicles in his shop’s inventory out of commission for one reason or another, it stood to reason that the next vehicle we’d see Cleetus take out for a good romping is the “Dale Truck”, the ex-Dale Earnhardt Incorporated Chevrolet racer that is now a street-legal road-going vehicle. That part is not a schtick, the truck is a real-deal roundy-rounder that is now able to hit the pavement. It’s got a plate in the back window, make no mistake about it. The last time we saw footage of the Chevy hitting the dragstrip, explanations were needed for why the truck seemed to be down on power. Not this time…whatever magic they’ve worked on #3, it’s helped dramatically. The LS7-powered stocker is now more than capable of making even a cold track work out, and even still there are problems that need to be addressed. Even on the strongest lap, notes are being taken on what isn’t working out. Things like weight over the rear tires, a potential fuel issue, and a shifter that everybody and their mother knows needs help in some way or form are all being noted for future work. It might be a while before any of that is addressed, seeing how the Crown Victoria, “Auction Mistake” Corvette and Leroy The Savage all need major wrench time, but still, it’s good to see Cleetus doing more than winding up on Mountain Dew and screaming until his larynx gives out.

If you watch the video of this particular truck when Cleetus purchased it, it was actually driven by Dave Marcus & owned by Dale Earnhardt Inc. PS: Dale did race the #3 truck for a minute before Skinner was hired
