As the leaves continue to fall and the frost continues to form on our quickly freezing arses, the Australians are just cracking their necks and preparing for the summer racing season. Actually…strike that, they really don’t have an “off” season, they just race regardless. In fact, as you read this the 2019 Street Machine Drag Challenge is going down at Calder Park Raceway in Victoria and will run out through November 15, 2019 after making a loop to Sunset Strip, located in the town of Mildura in New South Wales before heading to Victoria’s southern coast and South Coast Raceway in Portland before turning back to Calder Park for the final day. Since Street Machine took a page directly from Hot Rod Magazine’s Drag Week, the rules should sound similar: you drive your junk from track to track in compliance with the local laws, and you average up your best timeslip from each stop for an overall run.
