There are a lot of secrets in racing, and this is especially true in classes where everyone has the same parts and pieces. That’s because if everyone has the same stuff then the only difference is how you are using that stuff, or what you are doing to massage them into something special. That’s why crew chiefs are in such demand, and why they get payed the big bucks. They are the ones who know how to tune each and every component, and then the group as a whole, in order to get the most from the car. In Top Fuel and Funny Car pits the clutch is where the most voodoo is happening and that means teams are very, VERY, secretive on the settings inside their clutch can or bellhousing. Of course the parts inside there are pretty much the same, so again it is what you do with them that matters.
