2018 NHRA New England Nationals: From Stock Eliminator To Top Fuel and Prep Tractors our Last Blast Of Photos Has It All

(Photos by Dave Nutting) – It’s hard to believe that it was basically a week ago when we were up in Epping, New Hampshire sucking snoot full of nitromethane and watching super stockers stand on the bumper. We were watching Scott Gove in one of the nation’s baddest super stock machines running 7.80s and going rounds. We were watching have his best day ever in the seat of a nitro funny car, we saw fan favorite Clay Millican make a run with the parachute out, and we saw pro stock drivers dumping the clutch and banging gears down the famed Epping quarter mile.

Opened as a gash in the woods on September 11, 1966, New England Dragway grew to become the region’s premier drag plant in the 1970s and continued incremental growth and improvements from there. It is the oldest school and frankly smallest location on the NHRA national event tour but it is also one of the most fan friendly and fun. Seeing the event through Tony Sestito’s eyes today has been a blast. The guy experienced the weekend and loved it all, especially the sportsman racing of which you will see below.

It was a great weekend and now the NHRA tour sets its sights on the Mile High Nationals in Denver!
