If you’re going to roll into an event with some big-ass tires steamrolling underneath your ride and still have a license plate bolted onto the ride, two things should happen: you need to prove that your machine can handle a little cruise without burping up coolant or melting down like an unstable starlet, and you need to get onto the track and prove that you’re more than just a fairgrounds cruiser. Nobody likes a poser…if you’re going to rock the look, you better be able to act like you belong. Too many of us remember the late 1980s and early 1990s, Pro Street show builds, tweed interiors and very glossy Mickey Thompsons idling through rows upon rows of cars.

We know that no-prep deals have their share of controversy, but there is the equalizing factor that traction…or the lack of it…provides.
