More Great Action Photos From The 2014 Yellow Bullet Nationals – Huge Car Counts

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – I knew from the second the moment arrived at the house that the 2014 Yellow Bullet Nationals were going to be the biggest, baddest, and fastest ones yet. From the pitched battle between the 2014 Crusher Camaro to the wild elapsed timed being turned in by racers,. there’s no way that a fan left the 2014 LS Fest with anything but worn out sneakers and memories that’ll last a lifetime. The event went so well I had guys from regional drag series trying to get some of the green that Beech Bend Raceway earns for hosting this event. I mention all that junk because the 2014 Yellow Bullet Nationals came off like we wanted it to with racers from a huge area coming our to blast down the track at Cecil County Dragway to show the world how much power they had and how they plan on applying it over the course of the race.

In this gallery we have another fresh batch of sweet small tired race cars slugging it out in practice and the competition. While many traditional racers were at Indy trying to qualify, the crowd that showed up at Cecil County Dragway got a really amazing show with lots of record runs including Mills blasting into the 4.0’s on drag radials. They were tiny little drag radials as well not big honking 5500 RPM either.

This race was flipping HUGE and the prestige of winning it versus NHRA Indy is pretty even when looking at both of the cultures from a different perspective. The traditional drag race culture loves Indy for its history, it s size, and its difficulty to win. The reality is that over the history of the event the YB Nationals have grow to such a size and has so many good competitors, it has become the perfect centerpiece event or that side of the hobby.
