Hot Rod Drag Week 2016 Photos: Images From A Fun and Fast Day At Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park

(Photos by Mike Brooks) – It was great to look down from the announcing booth at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park and see pals Mike Brooks and Jose Ferrer shooting photos and enjoying a beautiful day Hot Rod Drag Week 2016. Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park was the second stop for the event which began the day previous at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. A winding route between the two tracks took a 90-mile drive and made it into a 230-mile drive.

Drag Week 2016 was the largest go in the event’s history with more than 320 cars starting on Monday at National Trail and then the shrinking began. By the time the week was over about 60 competitors had broken, quit, or otherwise abandoned the event mostly for mechanical reasons.

We have a bunch of great photos from Jose and Mike and we’ll be doling them out for all to see over the course of the next few days. This really is a spectacular event and it has spawned its fair share of spin-offs as well. There are versions of drag week that are happening on a smaller scale around the country. Be a part of the fun!
