How’s That Smoked Gap Taste? Larry Larson And The S-10 From Hades Win While Smoking The Tires The Whole Way!

How’s That Smoked Gap Taste? Larry Larson And The S-10 From Hades Win While Smoking The Tires The Whole Way!

If you have ever been looking for a measuring stick to determine whether or not you are a bad ass, this video is pretty much all need to see. If you are able to control a 3,500hp truck that is trying to spin the tires while simultaneously beating the brakes off of a blown Impala, you are Larry Larson and yes, you are a bad ass. This is a pretty wild run to watch not for the fact that anyone got sideways or crashed or anything. Quite the opposite. The fact that Larson was able to wrangle this truck down the course like it was on a rail while smoke rolls off of the massive rear tires is stunning. Imagine what the dude driving the Gudfar Impala was thinking?!

This race was held on the pit road at Kansas Speedway and was part of an event called Operation Outlaw. Lots of the big names in no prep racing were there because there was money to be made and at the end of the day, that’s the bottom line to bring may of these people and vehicles out. No shame in that game!

Anyone who has followed the exploits of Larry Larson and his truck over the last few years knows that while he stepped away from Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week (he says he is coming back in 2018!) he has ramped up his match racing, his no-prep racing, and his earning ability at events like Rocky Mountain Race Week. The truck ha proven itself to be a virtually unstoppable force in No Prep collecting huge paydays at events around the country.

This runs is freaking awesome. Both of the vehicles competing are great and the fact that Larson hazes the rear tires through the lights make it just that much neater. The boss? Yeah he drives an S-10 truck with all kinds of Proline horsepower. Wow.

Sorry, but I am more impressed with the full bodied \’63 Chevy Impala that lost by only a car length to a car half its size and weight. That is impressive.

Is the impala a vin tagged steel truck? Just curious because I know Larrys s10 is. What if he actually had traction?

Larson’s truck actually is not steel. It’s a full promod body and chassis. He built it for one reason, which was to mop up on everyone who talked crap on the internet. The Impala is one of my favorite cars out there though. Stock wheelbase backhalf car, really heavy, Its got a lot of steel. Not sure if the fenders are steel or not, but either way, it’s a heavy ride. The Impala has never gone down the track in a straight line. This is actually probably the best pass Ive ever seen it make.

Yes it is steel except for doors and front end.
If you don\’t know what you are talking about you shouldn\’t comment.

Awesmoe run with two, amazing cars.Street cars that are as quick as the F/C’s I grew up with? I would have never imagined it possible, yet, here they are. Truly amazing work. I don’t understand the haters who confuse the “power” of the Internet with the reality of the track. I’ve discovered that unless I am lined up next to them and ahead of them in the traps, anything i say against them is horseshit, plain and simple. Until you kick either one of these cars’ asses, enjoy your seat next to that Chevy-hating Limey.
