Oh, The Rolls Royce Burnouts Are Cute – This Video Of A Nitro Funny Car At Goodwood Beats All!

Oh, The Rolls Royce Burnouts Are Cute – This Video Of A Nitro Funny Car At Goodwood Beats All!

There have been some notable drag machines that have taken on the Goodwood hill over the years but none of them did what Jason Phelps did. Phelps took his Gladiator Ford Mustang nitro burner and laid down a succession of truly bad ass burnouts. Phelps closed out the event and we understand why. Not only is the car loud beyond loud, there’s also the whole risk of the thing barfing rods and screwing up the rest of the program. That being said, fans that stuck around got on hell of a show.

The Hemi Under Glass was part of that program and Don Garlits has been known to take a Swap Rat up Lord March’s driveway with no provocation as well. What those guys lacked and what Phelps excelled at was stretching the show out a little. Coming out of the chute, the car sounded great and was igniting the tires about three feet past the starting blocks. With Phelps blipping the machine to keep some momentum going up the hill, he would occasionally stop and lay down a holy smoker of a burnout.

Like a good showman, Phelps saved the best for last. He unleashes a truly furious shuttle launch of a burnout that goes hundreds of feet and just about to the bridge that everyone had been racing around all day. We love the fact that the straight line element is included and very popular among the fans at the race.

So the bottom line is pretty simple. If Rood wants to post a burnout video bragging on the Rolls Royce (which is pretty sweet) he needs to be ready for the consequences. It is not very often you get to answer a Rolls Royce with a top fuel car but we just did and Rood should learn a lesson about how quickly things can escalate over  here!
