Outlaw Fuel Altered Association Coverage: A Wild Weekend In Denton, Texas For These Great Cars

(Photos by “Bad Brad” Klaassen) – The worldwide network of BangShift contributors was really jamming last weekend and you are going to be seeing the results for days to come. Brad Klaassen has us covered in Texas when he spent some time at North Star Dragway in Denton to shoot the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association and nostalgia drag racing that was happening at the strip last weekend. The results of his effort are awesome images that show off not only the fuel altered racers but also the wide range of nostalgia cars that were competing as well. People at the strip got one hell of a show. We’re talking slingshots, gassers, and altered wheelbase cars that everyone just freaks for.

The fuel altereds are the headlining act at this show and they certainly lived up to the blind. If you wanted to be a player your car had to have been solidly into the 3s and doing that consistently. The craziest part of the race was the final qualifying pass with Bobby Marriott on one side of the track and Doyle Smith on the other. We’d give you a blow by blow but these photos do it.

Donny McSwain driving his car known as the “Wild One” took home top honors in an insanely difficult field. He got around Nick Poloson with a blistering quick three second pass. These OFAA guys are pretty awesome. They match race the cars against pro mods and they’ll pretty well stand up to anyone who is running in the other lane.

In short, these guys are our heroes.
