Rat Poison: The Cyanide Mustang Puts The Power Down With Four Lugs And Extreme Prejudice!

Rat Poison: The Cyanide Mustang Puts The Power Down With Four Lugs And Extreme Prejudice!

Yes, it’s a notchback Fox Mustang that can howl. There’s tons of them out there, ranging from turbocharged Pinto-powered beasts to the absolutely mental Radial cars we are fond of. But here’s one question for you: how many of these dragstrip terrors are still running four-lug hub systems and axles at all four corners? We’d venture not too many, especially with the rear axle. Often the four-lug system out back will be swapped out for a stronger 8.8 or 9-inch unit that can handle the power/traction combination that these cars are known for. Nobody wants broken axles, but here’s a tip: the four-lug system can be beefed up to handle quite a bit of grunt, and that’s part of why we like this white Fox. The other part is that it doesn’t need to be uncorked to get respect. Full mufflers, baby! With that license plate on the back, it makes you wonder how extensive this 5.0’s kill list actually is. We don’t have any proof that this notch has shamed some boys down south…but we have no reason to doubt it, either!

There is nothing wrong with 4 lugs, they make stronger 8.8 4 lug axles. The stock 5 lug axles are junk. 5 lugs are only for people who want “better wheel choices”

Car isn’t even good enough to display times. Meh? It’s ok to go n/t on rare occasion, or if you’ve got something special, but a fox body would need serious punch to qualify. And let’s not even start on the naming of inanimate objects. Ugh.

May be a four lug, sounds like a ford engine, but I’m pretty sure I only heard one gear change. Powerglide?
