Rough Stuff: Watch Dale Creasy Jr. Smack The Wall In His Funny Car At Rt 66 Raceway In Joliet, Illinois

Today’s nitro funny car world seems to be dominated by the familiar names we have all come to know. There’s the Forces, the Kalitta operation, the Schumacher clan, and other team cars out there as well. Shockingly there are a few independents still out and about trying to make a living with one of these beastly cars. Dale Creasy Jr. is among that small group along with his crew. They will hit some big NHRA meets through the year and also run many match races and the simple reason is economics. It makes no sense for them to compete on the highest level so they have relatively safe tune ups in their car and they race as hard as the budget allows.

In this video you’ll see Dale Creasy Jr. testing at Rt 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois and suffering a pretty hard shot to the wall. The car is barely up and rolling when it shoots across the track and meets the wall head on. In the video you will see the crash and the aftermath. This is rough to watch on many levels but the most basic is understanding that Creasy does not have the budget to buy a new car to comply with the rules.

Granted he didn’t have a fire, but those fire bottles sure don’t do a lot of good when they’re not in the car.
