Showstopper: Michael Britt’s Monte Carlo Came Out Swinging At Shut Up And Race!

Michael Britt’s 1982 Chevrolet Monte Carlo isn’t a race-only machine. And it’s not a recent build, though looking at it, you’d swear it was. He’s had the car since the early 1990s and has been working on it ever since, turning it from a used car lot refugee with it’s stunningly underpowered 267 V8 into what you see here: a beast of a 275-radial car that still sees street duty from time to time. A small-block Chevy is underhood, though details of the build for it’s current setup are far and few between. At one point it was running a nitrous-fed 408 Chevrolet mill a few years back, but right now? Well…if it’s not the 408ci unit, it’s performing well enough that the small-block isn’t missed, because it rolled into Headhunter’s Dragway in Georgia and didn’t leave until he took the whole field out! Very nice work for a G-body that can still throw on the street tires and hit the road when the mood strikes, now is it?
