THE 540cid TWIN-TURBO BBC FOR FINNEGAN’S 1961 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE IS HERE!

Whenever you get a new engine, whether in a crate, or in pieces from the machine shop, the moment when you see it all together in front of you is pretty special. Invariably there are engine noises being made, there’s touching that would otherwise make no sense, and the energy is usually palpable. I love it, and in this video you see Finnegan loving it too. After much teasing and anticipation and impatience, the Nelson Racing Engines built twin-turbo 540 is finally in Georgia and ready to go to it’s new home in the Caddy project. Because a big block was already used for mockup during the chassis fabrication for this project, it should drop right in right?

Well, I guess were just going to have to watch and find out together. I want to believe it will, and I genuinely hope it does, but if Finnegan’s normal luck shows up then there will be some small thing that gets in the way of success. But only in the short term. We’ll see how well all this goes below.

Video Description:

Episode 129 of Mike Finnegan’s Garage is all about making big time progress on my 1961 Cadillac Coupe DeVille because we finally have the Nelson Racing Engines 540ci twin-turbo big-block Chevrolet engine. We wasted no time in swinging the Dart engine block, Master Motorsports cylinder heads and NRE Alien intake maninold between the fenders of the Mac Daddy Caddy only to find out that fitting this thing under the stock hood is gonna be harder than it looks!

  1. Run 3

There is always engine noise, bumps that would otherwise be trivial, and the intensity is frequently palpable, all of which I enjoy. As you can see in the video, Finnegan shares my enthusiasm.
