If there is one thing that we all know it’s that we currently exist in the golden age of horsepower. From kids dragging junkyard 5.3L LS engines home and force feeding them with cheap turbos to guys like Steve Morris building everything from 3,000hp Drag Week engines to this nasty twin turbocharged Lamborghini engine that’s destined for a roll racing car.
You’ll get a neat tour of the engine here and then you will see the thing run on the dyno. Interestingly, Morris does show the numbers from the pull but is very quick to remind everyone that you’re not actually seeing the max effort numbers that this combo can produce. Having an inkling about what some similar cars make for power, the numbers you will see here are like 7-800 (maybe more!) shy of what this thing will do in battle mode.
People who diversify themselves within their field are interesting to us. Morris’s YT channel is cool because he’ll be on stuff like this, his SMX series of engines, traditional small blocks, you name it. The guy does build some really neat stuff.
