Just when you thought it was safe to go outside, BAM new top fuel national record. This time it was the tandem of David Grubnic and Brittany Force putting their collective skills together to reset the most prestigious record in the sport of drag racing and the run came on a gray day at the 2019 Mopar Express Lane Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania. While top fuel competitors had been running strongly, no one foresaw the resetting of the national record, especially in an afternoon session that didn’t even present the best conditions of the weekend!
Like all record setting passes, this run is as smooth and perfect as you read about. Force does an awesome job keeping the car centered up in the lane and dealing with the most brutal acceleration she’s ever had to experience before in top fuel.
As you will hear, the crowd reacts big when they are informed that they just witnessed the quickest pass in history.
Maple Grove Raceway fans are insanely hardcore, regularly waiting out rain showers and delays by mother nature in order to see what you see here. Pretty awesome stuff and a great payoff for fans who certainly deserve it!
