Watch Vincent Nobile Have A Rough Ride At Pomona – Wall Slapping, Tire Shaking, Badness

Vincent Nobile managed to do something at the NHRA Winternationals that Erica Enders-Stevens did not while racing the same Camaro for a championship in 2015. Touch the wall. During a run against Drew Skillman, Nobile’s car went into severe tire shake and in the process rotated on its axis and went shooting across the race track. Nobile was able to defensively maneuver the car to prevent a head on crash with the concrete but the machine did catch the wall pretty hard in a side slapping motion. He was able to drive the car to the end of the track and make the turn off but the noise looked out of joint and we’re not sure what else may have been bruised in the impact.

In the latter stages of 2015, Nobile and his team left the KB racing camp and aligned with the Elite Motorsports crew for their horsepower needs. As mentioned above, Nobile is driving the very same Camaro that EE drove to the NHRA pro stock championship in 2015. With a week off before the next race at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park outside of Phoenix, Arizona the crew is likely thrashing to get the car fixed up and ready again.

Nobile was certainly not the only one to have some excitement in his weekend as the pro stock teams made their debut with there new RPM limited and fuel injected combos. Some of the teams certainly had a better handle on the cars than others and it showed with a wider than normal gulf from the front to the rear of the qualified field. Nobile is a young talent and a second generation pro stock racer, following his dad John’s lead. He’ll be back and the team will be raring to go by the time they get to Arizona.
