2017 Hot Rod Hullabaloo Photo Coverage: Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Trucks, and More

2017 Hot Rod Hullabaloo Photo Coverage: Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Trucks, and More

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Not quite sure why donations were down from previous years though attendance was higher.  Shelby’s Way is a worthy cause and since the Hullabaloo is free it wouldn’t hurt if folks tossed a dollar or two into the bucket.  They do so much more than suicide prevention and awareness.  They do a great deal of benevolence work in the community and help folks out as much as they can.  There is a lot of listening, counseling, and more that goes on behind the scenes.  If you can….come out and have a good time and help them out a bit next year.

In this gallery there is SO much to talk about.  The white Maverick for one…  Simply WOW.  Then we have the ’69 Trans Am.  Owner has more than one and has had several over the years.  The Spyder wheels on this one…..are the same set as on the one in the old photo from Bluegrass Dragway.  He has 10 sets.  TEN.  The V8-swapped Corvair is not a Crown kit, but is similar in some respects.  Pretty cool ride, but is lacking leg room.  Here’s a mouthful – the stretched, LSR-inspired, Buick straight-8-powered Crosley might have been my favorite car there.  It had the right sound, the right look, and pushed all the buttons for this gearhead.  Lastly….another ’69 TA, but this one is no where near stock.  We first spotted this one at the Cynthiana Rod Run and we’ll bring you those photos soon enough.  There is a pro-touring type suspension, roll bar, six-speed, all-aluminum big-block, brake cooling ducts, and those awesome widened wheels.  If I can catch up to the guy I will shoot a feature on this monster.

Enjoy.

Yet another guy puts a Chevy scoop on a Mopar; this time a Charger.
I just wish these tools would keep their Chevelles and not try to make the switch…it never works out well.
