Almost Here: The 2022 Acura Integra Prototype Is Set To Be Revealed This Week – The Return Of A Big Nameplate

(By Tom Lohnes) – With 2022 right around the corner, Acura has some things planned. There’s the shockingly expensive MDX Type-S slated for next year, the sad discontinuation of the NSX, and some more minor tweaks throughout the lineup. But, by far the biggest change in the lineup is the arrival of the Integra, which is supposed to be fully revealed next Spring. But Honda is offering us a little taste of Integra before the reveal, as a prototype version is debuting November 11th.

Similar to the 2022 Honda Civic’s rollout, Acura will be giving us a sneak peek at a 95% completed Integra in about a week. This will be interesting considering no one really has any clue how the front end looks, and the only things that have been shown to the public have been carefully chosen by Acura themselves There’s been a few heavily camoed spyshots, but no clear look at the nose has been given yet. There hasn’t been much revealed about mechanical stuff, either. The only thing shown has been that the Integra will be available with a 6-speed manual, just like the Honda Civic hatch which it is based on. The platform, like the Civic, will be FWD, but there has been no official word or leaks on engines or any stats at all. Acura is keeping things very well hidden.

I am very excited to see the new Integra, and I sincerely hope Acura doesn’t mess it up. This is a storied nameplate with a lot of dedicated fans, and I really think they’ll be pleased by this if they do it right.
