Making A Bullitt Mustang Great Again! Liggett Get’s After It And Makes This 1968 Mustang Run Like It Should.

There are no shortage of famous Mustangs in TV and film, but nobody would argue that the Bullitt Mustang driven by Steve McQueen is arguably one of the most famous. The movie, and the car in it, were named after the lead character played by McQueen. What made this movie car so special wasn’t just the fact that it was featured in some of the most insane car chase footage anyone had ever seen, but also that this was a brand new 1968 Mustang. The filming of this movie started in 1967 when a 390, 4-speed, 1968 Mustang would have been a sought after machine at local dealerships, and therefore really popular with people watching on the big screen.

In this video from our friend Scott Liggett at Rebeldryver’s Garage, he’s got a Bullitt tribute 1968 Mustang in his garage that really needs to get some love in order to run and drive like it should. So follow along, and see how Scott goes about making this Mustang, his favorite Ford of all time, great again.

Video Description:

I get to work on my all time favorite Ford! Then I get to drive it! It’s a ’68 Highland Green Mustang GT fastback, just like the one in the Bullitt movie. This one is powered by a 302 and 4 speed transmission. It was restored over 20 years ago and has suffered from not being driven very much. Which only got worse, and the owner wants to drive it. He asked if I could help make it run good again. I jumped at the chance. I always wanted to get behind the wheel of this iconic machine. Follow along as I diagnose why it wasn’t running very good and get it fixed, so it doesn’t spend more time languishing in a garage.
