Making Sheet Metal Into Suspension! – Road Race Chassis For A Hot Rod Rebuild

Making Sheet Metal Into Suspension! – Road Race Chassis For A Hot Rod Rebuild

Building complicated shapes and structures at home can be a challenge sometimes, but if you use the methods in this video you’ll see just what is possible without anything but simple cutting and forming tools. With a vice, cut off wheel, grinder, some hammers and a good crescent wrench all the shapes in this video could be duplicated at home with some simple steel plate or sheet metal. Sure, a press brake attachment for your shop press would make things even easier, but a lot is possible with a little if you look at building metal structures this way.

In this video, you’ll see chassis and suspension parts being build from scratch using heavy sheet metal and plate that is formed and welded together. It’s cool and fun and again, something you can do when building chassis and suspension components.
