Battered Barracuda: Check Out This Tribute To The Bashed Barracuda In The Awful Movie Highwaymen

So this car is the 1968 Barracuda that played a starring role in 2004’s forgettable movie Highwaymen. This was the story about a lunatic guy that went around in a 1972 Cadillac killing people on the highway for fun. The good guy was negatively effected by this bad guy because his wife or some other family member had met their end at his hands. In order to fix the problem, the good guy goes on a cross country mission searching for the crazy Caddy driver. His vehicle is a hammered looking 1968 Barracuda with a super stock hood and some unexplained but eluded to racing history. Ultimately the car fights a big battle against the bad guy and is victorious, albeit destroyed. Hey, you win some and your lose some. We dug this car because it looked so pissed with the right stance and wheel/tire combo.

The footage of the big showdown is kind of hilarious but also fun to watch. You have to suspend not just reality but also the laws of nature and physics here to some degree. When Barracuda guy is jamming forward gears and Caddy guy is in reverse and out pacing him, things are a little odd. We give Caddy guy credit with the hip check J-turn that sends the Barracuda flying but how could he have known that the car would self-repair and be back to driving condition. That was a bad miscalculation on his part.

It stinks that these guys killed a Barracuda. How is it fair that the barge of a 1972 Cadillac only like lost a mirror or something. Finally, we think that this movie’s car wrangler had a sense of humor. Why? When you see the bad guy meet his end, note what kind of car is involved.
