Crazy Video: Watch The Rear Suspension Of A Dirt Track Car Work – Wild Stuff

Race cars are awesome things and there are many reasons but one of our favorite reasons is the fact that they are all specialized tools. The theories and construction practices that make a great drag racing car don’t really have much to do with the theories and practices that make a great dirt track stock car, right? This video illustrates just that with an awesome underside shot of a dirt track car making some laps at a dirt oval. The isolated shot shows the rear suspension coping with the forces being delivered to it from the engine as well as it coping with the notoriously unforgiving and uneven surface of a dirt track.

Companies like AFCO Racing are rooted in solving the issues that confront shocks and springs in this type of racing as well as using that knowledge to being better products to the general consumer that may not be running a dirt track car. The way that these shocks and all of the pieces are constantly cycling under these cars means that the environment is ideal to learn about heat dissipation and how to best manage the valving to keep the car connected to the racing surface and not have the rear axle bouncing all over the place.

We think you are going to dig watching this axle and the attached suspension components work in the heat of racing battle. This stuff is tough and the environment it works in is punishing!
