Epic Thread: Watching A Master Craftsman Scratch Build A 1:12 Scale Lincoln Continental Is Incredible

We have to thank Greg Hurlbutt for the indirect tip off to one of the most incredible threads we have seen on the internet. Greg is a hot rodder, Drag Weeker, and a serious modeler as well. The link to this thread popped up in response to some of the bad ass stuff the is working on and when we clicked it, we were mesmerized by the amazing talent of Roger Zimmerman. As you will be able to tell almost immediately, this is not Roger’s first rodeo in the world of crafting small cars. All you really need to know is that the lead photo shows a quarter sitting behind the WIPER MOTOR he made! This car will have functional power windows that work off of switches placed in the factory location.

From the fabrication of the tires from scratch, the bumpers, the chassis, all of the body panels, and yes, the power windows, he has it all detailed at the link below. The wayne makes the valve covers will leave you with your jaw on the table. It is craftsmanship and talent on a level that we can barely appreciate. The patience required to do this is just amazing but the end product is stunning.

You will see in the thread of posts some of the other cars that Roger has built over the years and they are really something. Each one has been crafted with the same level of skill and care. Like anyone who has talent, the more he does this, the better he gets and right now the Lincoln is at the top of the food chain.

So how long is the process to build these cars? The thread begins in 2010 and still continues today. A passion project, indeed.
