Frozen In Time: This Amazing Film Tells The Fascinating History Of The Goodwood Circuit In England

In the year 2021 “Goodwood” gearheads from around the world know exactly what you are talking about. It is a name connected with perhaps the most famous automotive events on the planet. The Goodwood Revival, The Goodwood Festival of Speed, and The Members Meetings have long been destination events for people all over the world. The Goodwood Festival of Speed was in fact created to raise money to fix the racetrack of which it was named after. A track that was started by nobility and was a center point of racing activity in the UK for many years.

In 1966 the track was closed for active racing and it would remain so since 1996. That doesn’t mean the place was rotting away. In fact, it was used as a test track by the most famous race teams in the world. It was also used for time trials and other events that kept the place active but allowed it to drift further and further off the map of notable racing facilities around the world. The track itself was in good shape by the 1990s but the buildings and other infrastructure were in failing condition.

This is the story of how a legend was preserved, enhanced, and ultimately brought back to its former glory. A story about how a race track is more than just a race track, and a story about how passion, love, and hard work can overcome virtually any obstacle.
