For The Ultimate In Entertainment Buy This Exo-Caged Former Cop Car Crown Vic – PIT Maneuver For Lyfe!

We’re not sure that there’s a better way to spend $3,500 than there is on this former cop car Crown Vic that has been outfitted with big steel bashers front and rear, likely for PIT maneuver training or something else. No matter the intention for the steel tube growths they look awesome and can you imagine the fun that could be had with this car? These things are virtually indestructible as it is but with the addition of the B.A. Baracus like exoskeleton fore and aft the cool level gets cranked about 50 notches. This would actually be a handy car for a stock car track to have for efforts of cleanup where there’s a bunch of wrecked junk on the track that needs to be pushed off.

The seller is really big on telling everyone that this car is one of a kind and while he’s right in some sense, there are lots of these things around the country that are used by driving training centers like the one this particular car was used in. He lists the car as only having 53,000 miles so perhaps it is possible that it has lived like this its whole life but when you see the roll cage tubes inside, you can see some flash rusting on them but this thing seems to be overall pretty good shape.

It is probably slow as a barge with all those hundreds of pounds of plate and tubing on either end but adding to the mass of the thing is actually a boon when you are getting ready to demolish brick walls, jail break someone, or stop a car load of evil doers by catching it at ramming speed.

Sure seems like there is some fun to be had with this sucker!

A guy in my neighborhood dailys one of these. The bars dont stick out so far on the sides as this though. They are only about two inches away from the bodywork. It is way rougher than this one two, his was definately used hard in training before he got it, even with the bars, the front is still bashed in a little. Just thinking of the possibilities with it, I got excited first time I ever saw it.

What is PIT and why do cars used in its training have to be protected like this?

I dare say I’ll find out as it will be yet another American import to the UK like the supremely irritating “Have a nice day”….

Precision Immobilization Technique or “PIT”…cop car comes up from behind an taps your left rear quarter with his right front bumper causing your car to spin. Used to end chases. Fun to watch CHMG.

On this side of the pond we have driver training so the freeways don’t look like the M1 bumper car show. Don’t like US phrases or imports? Must be lots of places in Sheffield to sit about or find a forum with no foreign influences.

    Now have a nice day.
