Is Lancia Coming Back To The USA? It Sure Seems Like It – What Models Will They Bring?

Is Lancia Coming Back To The USA? It Sure Seems Like It – What Models Will They Bring?

(By Tom Lohnes) – Lancia has had a seemingly tough couple of decades. From making the Group B rally monsters of the 1980’s, and even some cool cars from the 90’s, Lancia makes one car, and it’s a subcompact hatchback called the Ypsolin. Well, good news for Lancia, the chief of Stellantis has announced that Lancia has a “better future”.

What this means is unknown, but there is a good chance that we’ll see Lancia once again in North America. Now, I’m no company CEO, but I do have a few ideas for Lancia. First off, make a new Delta, specifically an Integrale trim with a turbocharger and AWD to rival the Subaru WRX and VW Golf R. Next, make a modern Stratos, but this time it’s more Toyota MR2 than supercar, and based on the Alfa Romeo 4C. Then, sprinkle a few normal cars in there, and you have one of the better auto manufacturer lineups right now. Of course, Lancia will live in Alfa Romeo’s shadow as always but they could take a few things from them and their recent US re-introduction.

So, what do you want to see out of Lancia? Personally, I would like a modern Delta Integrale the most, but that’s just me. Hopefully like Alfa Romeo they are able to re-ignite people’s passion for the brand here in the USA.

They were rust “magnets”… would rather see Peugeot return, they make some hot hatchbacks.

Build a mid sized, rwd, sports luxury car and ride that racing heritage nostalgia. Something similar to the giulia, 3 series, etc
