Back in 2014, I was lucky enough to tour around most of Ireland with my wife and her family on my first major vacation outside of the United States that didn’t involve wearing fatigues. In the days that we spent in Ireland, we saw everything from knockout-gorgeous woodland trails to the drop-jaw beautiful Ring of Kerry roadways to the imposing Titanic Museum at the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast and some of the darker sections of the nearby suburbs during our time in Northern Ireland. I fell in love with the place. I want to go back and next time, I want to rent a car for a few days to try out the roads for myself, because riding on a Volvo bus on roads only a few inches wider than it’s own footprint just doesn’t cut it. Anyone who has been will tell you how gorgeous the scenery is, and if you haven’t gone, I suggest you start taking the steps to go.

While out on his world tour with his Escort Cosworth, Ken Block had to take part in the Joule Donegal Rally, which uses County Donegal in the northwestern section of the isle as a home for drivers over the course of three days, where twenty stages of competition are held. With beautiful scenes, highly technical sections of tarmac and a hardcore fanbase that loves the rally drivers, it’s a rally team’s dream shot! With everything from classic Fords to ex-WRC cars of late taking part, all you can do is let the Head Hoon In Charge take you on a POV view of the event!
