Morning Symphony: The Best Of Swedish V8 Rally Racing

Morning Symphony: The Best Of Swedish V8 Rally Racing

You want to know what the inspiration is for this video? A project car (that you will be seeing soon, once I finish getting the photos together) drove around for the first time this evening. It looked and sounded like the scenes from “Christine” where it’s loud, slow, and blowing all sorts of smoke everywhere, but the crowning achievement was a quick drift in the backyard before being parked back in its spot before somebody called the freaking cops on me. If you haven’t booted something with a loud V8 around on a gravel or dirt road, you haven’t lived…period. You get all the fun of drifting and abusive driving, but you don’t get the problems that come with big power and the traction of asphalt. On dirt, your driveline is less-inclined to become a fuse for the drivetrain.

We know that the Swedes love American cars. We’ve seen one car in this video, the red Ford Falcon, playing in the woods before. But which one is your favorite? I’m torn between the perfectly rough Chevy Monza and the mental little Triumph.
