The Grasshopper: This Petrolicious Look At A 1962 AC Bristol And Its interesting Owner Is Cool

If there is one thing that I have learned over the years here at BangShift and everywhere else in the automotive world it’s that every car and every person has their own story. In this case we have the intersection of the two. A car with a great story and a person with a great story. In terms of the car, you are looking at a beautiful 1962 AC Bristol which was imported int the country more than 50 years ago as a racer and has seemed to have lead a pretty charmed life to this point. Its not something that has been beat up and wrecked. Instead it is a car that was raced and really well cared for over the years.

The owner of the car is not the typical sports car owner in my estimation, at least by her backstory. Robin Grove grew up loving cars. From the age of 14 it was one thing or another with automobiles. They became her life but in a way tat few other people we have heard talk about the automotive industry describe. She became and continues to be on the customs side of importing cars and exporting them. Her life has been moving and protecting the investments of other people. It was a detached kind of relationship she had with cars over the years until this Bristol showed up and changed all of that.

Grove now has a stunning collection as you’ll see and a passion for getting our and driving her stuff. The Bristol will soon participate in the California Mille, a 1,000 mile sports car road trip. Pretty awesome.

Beautifully shot around the port and docks where she had made a successful living, this is more beautiful work from Petrolicious.
