We have been and will continue to pound on our opinion that cars are meant to be used. It doesn’t really matter how, but they need to be driven, enjoyed, hammered on, slid sideways, ripped through the gears, and reminded who is boss on a regular basis. The local strip and autocross events are two places that allow you to legally get dumb with your junk and there’s nothing better than knowing that Johnny Law is outside the gate.

This video 100% backs up our constant beating on the notion that just because your car isn’t “set up” to do autocross, you need to get out there and have a riot just doing it. The in-car film you’ll see below features a great ProCharged El Camino carving cones and corners at an event in Oklahoma City. This thing is sideways, cross-ways, and out so shape for most of the run, but damn it looks like a lot of fun! Was the guy in the Miata quicker? You bet your ass he was. Did the guy in the Miata smoke the tires and dirt track his car around half the corners? Hell no he didn’t.

This video isn’t about taking a shot at a dude who’s car clearly isn’t designed to be an autocross machine. It is to celebrate and reinforce the fact that the only thing stopping you from doing stuff like this is YOU. Hit the web, find the 2015 schedule for these events or grudge nights at the strip by you and DO IT. This guy in the El Camino did and had the time of his life!
