The 370Z Is Dead – Long Live The 370Z: After 13 Years In Production The Model Has Been Retired To Make Way For The New Z

(By Tom Lohnes) – Well folks, the 13-year-old Nissan 370Z has finally sold its last-ever unit, and it was less than a month after production stopped.

Ah, the 370Z. In my eyes, the perfect sports car, in other people’s a 2008 model year with a different front end. Well, I guess a lot of people thought the ol’ 370 was a good sports car because they bought them up quick. With the new Z on the way promising turbocharging and a better focus on lap times, people are snatching up the 370Z because it is the last naturally-aspirated Z car. Will this be a collector’s item in the future? I mean, maybe, but they made over 100,000 of them in its 13-year production span (2008-2021), so it’s highly unlikely. That is a good thing for enthusiast like you and me though, because the same thing that happened with the 350Z is going to happen with the 370. In about 2016, the 350Z absolutely tanked in value, with even the nicest of models below $10,000. That has obviously changed now, because people have been up charging their late model 350s with the improved VQ35HR engine, making prices rise.

So, in about 5-10 years we’ll see 370Z values hit the floor, and that’s a good thing, because you can do some crazy stuff to these machines. Long live the Z.
