Full Contact Unboxing: Uncle Tony Unveils A Cheap Chinese Carb and Bolts It On His Project Boat – Junk or Functional?

When it comes to spending money these days people like to pick their spots. Uncle Tony is among us. Why? In this video he unboxes and installs a cheap Chinese made replacement carb for a boat project he is working on for his family as a Christmas gift. The idea here is to see what the $199.00 carb looks like, how it compares to the junk that came off the engine, and to see whether it will do carb things when bolted onto the boat’s little engine. The carb is a direct replacement for the Rochester that was on the engine, so this is not some high performance job or an upgrade per se.

Tony is usually a fixer of such things rather than a replacer but the carb that was on the engine is truly and totally hashed. He got a rebuild kit for it but the thing is just too far gone and for that reason he went to the internet and found a bargain replacement.

With his usual wit, attitude, and informative manner, he takes us through the old one, the new one, the hows, the whys, his thought process here, and ultimately his impressions as to whether this thing will do the job or not. This isn’t about does it run, it’s about “does it run well?”

Press play below to see Uncle Tony unbox his cheap carb and bolt ‘er on!

Maybe they are ok or maybe he got lucky but where to you turn to when it aint quite right…thats the real problem for me. That cheap price and quick delivery can turn into a big hassle fast but then again anything used on ebay has its risks too. I spend my money extra carefully these days.
