This is a video that shouldn’t happen on paper. A big block 1968 Camaro road racing car should not be hanging with GT40s, Lolas, and other Can Am cars, right? Well that’s exactly what hot shoe Oliver Bryant does in this video at Sebring. The screaming and roaring big block Camaro may not have the chassis that those other cars have but those other cars did not have a seasoned and bad ass British GT racer behind the wheel. Bryant is no old man. He is a young guy who can really wheel and we’re thinking that the true illustration here is how much he is getting out of the Camaro because of his skills, not some miracle setup of the car itself.
He is smooth and the car is making good suds. We’re not sure how rigorous the rules are as far as checking displacement and stuff on these cars and we’re not accusing the guy of cheating but that 396 could be a lot bigger in the same factory “case”, right?
You’ll love the video, you’ll love all the cars in this glorious traffic jam and if you are a Chevy person you’ll especially love the start where Bryant blows a damned GT40 off like it is tied to a tree!
