Event Photo Coverage: Wings and Wheels 2018 – Our Last Load Of Photos From The Show

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Vehicles which at one time were more inclined to be worked, but now live a fairly charmed life.  Big trucks, smaller trucks, big tractors, smaller tractors, wagons, and more.  We dig early stuff and the garden tractors top that list.  The one sporting the small-block Chevy is still using its original differential.  It’s just for idling around and impressing the crowd so it should be fine.

Square-body Chevrolets are some of our favorites and a handful of owners brought out their pride and joy.  One slipped away before we snagged a photo, but we managed to stop talking to folks long enough to get the other four.

One thing we don’t see enough of anymore are cab over semi trucks.  Occasionally some will come out for a cruise and the two here were a treat.  The American Truck Historical Society is holding their annual convention at the Kentucky Horse Park May 31-June 2nd and we expect many examples of these awesome machines will show up there.

A small herd of Robinson helicopters flew in and decorated an area adjacent to the parking ramp.  It was pretty cool being on the airport grounds as cars and aircraft came and went.  Not something I’ve experienced since leaving the service.

Hope you enjoyed our coverage of this interesting event.
