This 1985 Jeep CJ7 Is A Rig Done Right – May Be Late In The Season But We Want It!

I have always wanted a CJ Jeep. Growing up as a child of the 1980s I saw them everywhere and I thought their looks were awesome. In fact, when their square lens headlight replacements showed up the CJs got even more popular because those other horrible looking things just drive everyone nuts. Man, those were bad. There are always a lot of CJs for sale and most of them are commanding pretty strong money because the older they get the harder they are to find. This is pretty simple math, right? Just because there are a lot of them doesn’t mean there are a lot of GOOD ones for sale and that is where we land with this 1985 Jeep CJ7. It is a good one.

There a couple of inches of lift at work here, there are larger tires bolted onto it, there’s a bikini top, and there’s some nice blue paint that help to make this a cool little truck. We also dig the fact that there is a straight six and a manual transmission because while it may not be exceptionally powerful or sexy, that engine is a good runner and will power this thing until the end of time as long a sit is maintained.

There are more bad ass looking, advanced, and technologically cool Jeeps out there but this one just hits us right. The stance, the tire size, and the finish would make this a killer rig to jump in with the family and hit the beach. No, it will to win a rock crawling contest but that’s cool with us. We’d kill to spend some summer nights piloting this bad boy.

That is NOT nice enough to be a $16K Jeep. Absolutely no way I’d pay that much. It’s at absolute best a $8K Jeep.

  2. Jeepster

rattle canned engine bay with over spray on many parts, blatant on the firewall/hood lip

crankcase breather plumbed to the incorrect vac port on the Weber,
this should be on the bottom port below the butterflies

all of the exposed wire bundle out of the main loom

” square lens headlight replacements … Man, those were bad”
wanna guess where the non matching front seats are from ?

& that big ass dent in the bent nerf bar, former rock crawlin maybe.
Cooper is correct on price on a real good day, before checking out the
rear body tub. Laredo packages had chrome hood hinges and latches.

    Yes – hideously over priced!

For that money I’d expect V8 power and an attempt at a rock rod suspension system. The hood is sheer crap and a Land Rover Defender with a supercharged motor and mild lift would run rings around it off road..
