Show and Go: This 1986 Pulling Footage Rules Because Of Awesome Trucks, Big Revs, and Showmanship

Now this is some awesome video fun! Let’s take a trip back to 1986 and act like a fly on the wall of this truck pull. The class we are going to watch is the 6,200lb Modified four wheel drive class. These are naturally aspirated trucks and of course, they can only weigh a maximum of 6,200lbs when they hook to the sled. The best parts of the video for us are the venue, which looks like an old sand pit, the rigs, which are all spectacular in their own way, and the screaming noise of the engines through a variety of header types. From long vertical zoomies to stacks, to one guy who has a collector bullhorn deal the likes of which we have never seen before!

There are some trucks you may recognize in here as well. Gone AWOL was one of the most famous pulling trucks of the 1980s, the Virginian Ford is stunning as well, and the Yellow Fever Chevrolet wins the showmanship award with the body raising vertically off the chassis before it makes the hook. We’re guessing the kids that were there that day likely never forgot that sight! We know we wouldn’t have for sure.

Enjoy this trip back WAY back to the 1980s. The fashions may have been weird but the trucks sure were boss!
