Bryce Menzies Is No Stranger To Awesome Desert Race Performances, But This Video From His BAJA 500 This Year Is Great

Anyone who reads my posts here on BANGshift knows that I’m a big fan of desert off-road racing and that I want to race at BAJA so bad I can taste it. I also can’t get enough of the bad assery that is Trophy Trucks, and anything with insane suspension travel really, and that means that watching videos of these things working is truly special to me. Videos like this one of Bryce Menzies experience during the 2019 BAJA 500 is fun to watch. Just watching a truck of this size flying across the desert at 75-120 miles per hour is truly awe inspiring. The tire and wheel combos on these suckers weigh more than all of them on your typical hot rod and yet eat up 24 inches worth of suspension travel like it is nothing. Just watching the suspension cycle is mesmerizing. I could watch it all day.

But this year’s race wasn’t just about the big whoops and jumps. It featured silt beds that had the baddest of the bad needing to be pulled out by heavy equipment because they were so deep they bogged down everyone that entered them. I can’t even imagine silt that will suck up a truck with 39-42 inch tall tires, but these guys lived it and they lived it early in the race. Watch Bryce’s adventures as he takes on the 2019 BAJA 500 in Mexico.
