(By Tom Lohnes) – The Ford Bronco Raptor has been spied once again, and it has quite the familiar face.
Wearing the signature Raptor grille, this new Bronco of course has the word “Ford” in big text stretching across its new mesh front end. This replaces the word “Bronco”, which wasn’t exactly needed given how distinct the vehicle looks. Other than the grille, expect this beefier Bronco to carry a 450-hp 3.5L Ecoboost V6 with enough power to rival the almighty 392 Wrangler, and a lot of other upgrades to help it excel against the V8 Jeep off-road. Rumor says this thing will be available with 37” tires just like it’s F-150 counterpart.
Another good thing for the aftermarket, the Raptor grille will fit any Bronco, enabling people to make their base $28,000 Bronco with steel wheels look just a little bit more like the real thing. There is a version of this grille that fits just about every Ford vehicle, even the compact Escape crossover. The Bronco will join the family, and I would not be surprised if there is a Mach-E with the Ford text sprawled across the front of it soon.
Hugely over-hyped and hugely disappointing.
The ‘new’ Bronco.
How many ways can you cook a basic Range Rover platform?
I don’t see how a turbo setup can work for low end grunt of 4 wheeling
Larry,
Have you actually seen how much bottom end TQ the 3.5
makes in the F-150?
Another vaporware model of a product they cannot produce.
