TAMING THE HOT & LOUD UNIMOG! CAB RENOVATION BEGINS – Ultimate DIY Expedition Vehicle Build #4

Chris and Ange are plugging away on their Unimog Expedition vehicle build, and in this week’s episode they take major steps toward keeping the heat and noise out of the cab of their Unimog. Because theirs started life as a military vehicle it has ZERO creature comforts inside and not a stitch of insulation or sound deadening. It just didn’t matter on this thing given its purpose and job. But driving this thing across Australia, and living in its soon to be built rear camper, will be ZERO fun for them if this sucker doesn’t have at least a few additions in the name of comfort. Right now it is so hot and so loud that you couldn’t hear a stereo if one was installed, and wouldn’t care because you are sweating so bad.

So this episode has them installing lots, and I do mean lots, of sound deadening material, picking up new comfy seats, and more. The next episode will really be good as they finish off the last of it, but at just 5 weeks into their build, I’d say they are doing pretty well. And I’m really excited to see the final design of the RV box on the back, as this thing will be a killer off-road camper.
