If you missed the build of the front bumper, then click the link below so you can see that one go together too. In this video a great custom plate bumper goes together for the back of the truck, including a receiver hitch that should be capable of pulling anything this truck can handle. The design is simple, gives good clearance, lots of protection, and of course a great place to slide in a trailer hitch for those times you need to haul more than will fit in the bed. The best part about a project like this is the fact that the entire design was done with just some cardboard and tape. It is a method that can serve you well in your fabrication projects, because it doesn’t cost anything to make mistakes or try things that are in your head. There is no reason not to try stuff out and see what it will look like before actually cutting and welding. Plus, it allows you to identify areas that will be tough to weld, or install, before having a real problem. There is nothing better than using cardboard to make projects, and this bumper is the perfect example.
