Truck Tugging Video: It’s Like The Redneck Version Of Tractor Pulling… Wait, What?

I think much of the world thinks that tractor pulls are a redneck kind of thing, but the truth is there is really big money in tractor pulls and the technology is pretty fantastic as well. We’re fans around here, and you guys are too because anytime we run a gallery of photos from the tractor pulls they get big views. But what about Truck Tugging? This certainly seems like the redneck little brother of tractor pulling, and couldn’t be a simpler sport to understand. Think tug of war, but with a pair of trucks.

Two trucks are hooked to each other, with a line halfway between them. The idea is that you try to pull your competitor across the line so he’s defeated, just like a normal tug of war. There are a jillion videos of trucks pulling each other around, in parking lots, on steel plates, on asphalt, dirt, and whatever, but these events are setup with a very specific space, purpose built trucks, and more. Purpose built doesn’t necessarily mean trick, but they are kinda fun to watch if for no other reason than the carnage that feels like it is just around the corner at any moment.

As far as I can tell, the rules revolve around how many wheels are powered and what the truck weighs. Sounds simple and fun!
